Quito is serviced by American Airlines, Copa, Delta, United, and Continental, with U.S. connections in Miami, Houston, and Atlanta. Airport transfers are not included, but it is quite easy to grab a taxi to Quito from the airport. The ride takes about 50 minutes and costs about $30 USD.
You'll be staying in 3-4 star hotels in Quito and local homestays in the Amazon.
If you are a solo traveler and wish to secure your own room, a single supplement of $299 is payable to Adventure Journeys. If you're a solo traveler willing to share a room with someone of the same sex, you won't need to pay the single supplement.
Adventure Journeys brings the majority of the food (see the itinerary for a list of all included meals), including fresh drinking water and their staff will prepare fresh meals for you. Breakfast includes pancakes, eggs, yogurt, granola, fresh fruits, cereal, bread, marmalade, butter and fresh coffee or tea. Picnics include ham and cheese sandwiches, tuna sandwiches, fresh fruits and vegetables, soda and juices. Dinner includes fresh salads and soups, popcorn, pastas, beef, chicken, fish, rice, potatoes, yucca, beans, vegetables, soda, juice and water.
Ecuador accepts the US dollar and most major credit cards. Plan to bring about $200 USD extra for souvenirs, gratuities and any additional meals or accommodations you might need.

Since the Amazon is a rainforest, you can expect most mornings to be sunny, with rain in the late afternoon and at night.
The Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador has issued a new law regarding all visitors to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands, an Ecuador Health Insurance Requirement is compulsory for the length of stay in the country. This is compulsory for all foreigners entering Ecuador and the Galapagos as tourists.
Travel insurance is required for this adventure. It allows you to seek reimbursement if you are forced to cancel your trip for unforeseeable reasons, or if you need to cover medical help, emergency transport, and/or theft or accidental damage while traveling.
