What is the best way to get to the trip start location?
International flights are available into the airport in Kathmandu, Nepal. A tour representative will meet you at the airport.
What are the accommodations like?
Lodging in Kathmandu will be in 3-star hotel accommodations. On the trek, you'll be staying at local teahouses along the trail, which offer basic accommodations. All accommodations are based on double occupancy. You can read more about teahouse-style lodging here.
How large is each travel group?
The maximum group size is ten people.
What is the minimum age for trip participants?
Individuals as young as 16 years may attend as long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. Otherwise, the minimum age is 18 years old to travel alone.
Can solo travelers get their own room? Is there a single supplement fee?
Yes, solo travelers can get their own room in Kathmandu. On the trail OneSeed Expeditions will attempt to provide single lodging at the teahouses if requested, however this many not always be possible. There is no single supplement required for this trip.
What kind of shape should I be in for this trip?
Much of the trek takes place at high elevations, so you should be in at least average physical shape. Many days, the hiking distance is about 6-7 miles, so you should be able to hike for 5-6 hours over terrain with significant elevation gain. It is a good idea to engage in aerobic exercise 3-4 days per week starting at least two months before your departure date. Remember to break in your hiking boots before leaving for the trip.
What is the weather like?
Peak season to travel in the Annapurna region falls between September and November and then again between February and April. The weather on the trail will vary at different altitudes, but in the town of Ghorepani, which is located at 9,393 feet, June is the hottest month of the year with averages as high as 68°F. Winter months like January can get as cold as 25°F.
The monsoon season falls during the summer months of June, July, and August, when rainfall can be as high as 5.5 inches per month. The rest of the year is relatively dry with only 1 inch of rain.
What is the food like? Are meals included?
All meals are included on this trip for Days 3 - 11 (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). On day 1 dinner is included, on day 2 breakfast and dinner are provided, and on day 12 breakfast is included. Both traditional Nepali and western fare will usually be available. Vegetarian options will always be available, as will coffee, tea, and water. Other food options and snacks can be purchased as well. OneSeed Expeditions can accommodate most dietary restrictions if you notify them of your needs in advance.
How much extra money should people budget?
This will vary depending on your spending habits. Days 3 - 8 on the trek, there will be limited places to spend money. Plan to budget around $300 - $400 for personal shopping, snacks and beverages, laundry, and tips. Tips are optional but much appreciated. Average tip amounts are:

What should people bring? Do you have a packing list?
You are responsible only for personal clothing and gear listed below. OneSeed Expeditions will provide all the other necessary equipment. A gear check will be completed before you depart for the trail. This list does not include additional clothing/items you may want for travel or for your time off the trail. Any luggage not needed on the trail can be left in storage during your expedition. This expedition includes porters for bag transport. You are only responsible for carrying a daypack. We recommend packing your items in a large backpack or a durable duffle bag. There is a 22 lb limit for luggage carried by your porter. A packing list follows:

Must be confirmed no later than 1 week prior to expedition start date.
Are there any required immunizations or other medical concerns for this trip?
Talk to your physician and follow recommended the CDC guidelines for Nepal. Some travelers choose to use prescriptions such as Diamox to treat altitude sickness. We recommend talking to your doctor about the use of any prescription medicine.
Should I purchase travel insurance? If so, do you have a recommended provider?
Travel insurance is highly recommended. Travel insurance allows you to seek reimbursement if you are forced to cancel your trip for unforeseeable reasons, or if you need to cover medical help, emergency transport, and/or theft or accidental damage while traveling. We recommend World Nomads as a provider.
Please note that OneSeed expeditions provides medical and evacuation insurance for participants confirmed 30 days or more prior to the tour start date. Cancellation insurance is not included.
Can I cancel the trip?
