Experience some of the most incredible countryside in the continent on your 100-mile ride from Zion to Bryce Canyon!
The backcountry terrain you'll cover on this Intermediate mountain bike tour between Bryce and Zion National parks is beautiful. Singletrack enthusiasts will love this ride and options are available most days for more or less mileage. Please note this tour does not take place inside either Bryce or Zion National Parks.
Travel the spectacular canyon country between two of Utah's most stunning National Parks! Begin your adventure on the Virgin River Rim Trail, a sensational singletrack trail winding through pine & aspen groves, with views of the cliffs of Zion in the distance. Then it's on to Red Canyon, riding beneath blazing pink cliffs and wildly eroded rock formations known as Hoodoos, just outside Bryce Canyon National Park.
Arrival, orientation, and Navajo Lake Loop: 9 to 20 miles
Meet at 8:00 a.m. on the morning of departure in St. George, Utah at the Red Lion Inn, (435) 628-4235. Let the hotel staff know you are with Rim Tours when you book your room to receive a discount. Your guides will take care of any last-minute logistics and load the support vehicle. Shuttle to your camp for the duration of the tour at Navajo Lake. After a brief orientation your ride begins on Navajo Lake Loop, a beautiful 9 mile ride on rolling moderate singletrack with options for additional distance and challenge. Once back in camp and tents are set, your work is done! Your guides will take care of the details from setting up lawn chairs with hors d'oeuvres and the drink cooler nearby, to cooking up a healthy, delicious meal. Washbasins are available for clean up and a solar shower is usually available for 1 or 2 nights during the trip. This is your time to relax, whether it's lounging around camp with Rim Tours' library of books or setting out for a hike to explore your surroundings.
Virgin River Rim Trail: 10 to 28 miles
Start exploring the Virgin River Rim Trail and its buffed singletrack with sweeping turns and sometimes challenging climbs. Ride from camp to Cascade Falls for lunch and the option of a short hike to view the falls. Riders can either catch a shuttle back to camp after lunch or ride back to camp or extend the ride further along the southern limits of this fantastic trail system.
Virgin River Rim Trail: 15 to 25 miles
Continue exploring the Virgin River Rim Trail which contours the edge of the Markagunt Plateau through aspen forests and across green meadows. The views to the wildly eroded Pink Cliffs below are spectacular, and watch for local residents of deer and wild turkey. Today’s ride may be done as an out and back or you may descend further and shuttle back to camp after a one-way ride to Deer Haven. Check out the Bristlecone pine trees along the route, some of the oldest living trees in the world!
Thunder Mountain Trail Loop and Great Western Trail: 14 to 19 miles
Your final day’s ride, the Thunder Mountain Trail Loop, is a classic! This scenic ridge ride features 14 miles of superb singletrack with a rolling doubletrack approach on the Great Western Trail. The trail climbs and descends through evergreen forests surrounded by otherworldly outcroppings of red rock hoodoos and finishes with another fantastic descent back into Red Canyon. Shuttle back to St. George, arriving between 4:00 and 6:00 PM. You may not arrive in time to catch flights so please make lodging arrangements in advance.
The guides were great: providing technical advice, knowledge of trails & area, preparing great food, as well as being great company.

I was on this tour in July and had an unbelievable time. The biking was excellent and the scenery was breathtaking. The guides were highly experienced and knowledgeable, and the food they prepared was second to none. Immediately afterwards I went up to Moab and cycled the Slickrock trail with Rim Tours also, which was equally awesome. I'm already planning my next trip with them - Probably the White Rim or the Maze next year if possible. Brilliant trip.
Our 4 day Zion & Bryce Canyon MTB tour was a brilliant trip. The rides along the Virgin River trail were great but the highlight had to be our final ride on the Thunder Mountain trail - epic!
Our guide, Mike and his sidekick, Franklin were fun and really looked after us setting up camp in a beautiful Aspen grove by Navajo lake. The meals that Mike created using a gas cooker and Dutch oven were legendary. Some of the best tasting and healthiest food we had on our whole holiday! And Mike's "special treat" at the end of the rides was just what we needed...
We rented Santa Cruz 5010 bikes. Worth the upgrade to Carbon frames. Very comfortable and well looked after bikes that were ideal for this trip. A quick note - we did not enter Zion or Bryce Canyon National Parks, rather we did rides in this area. Going into the parks would mean crowds and inferior trails.

I did the Bryce-Zion trip in July, attracted by the good reviews on the website and here.
Im relatively new to MTB so the trip more than exceeded my expectations. It was appropriately challenging for me as a new but relatively fit mountain biker. Other, more experienced riders on the trip also had a great time, and by all accounts it was more than enough for them to handle.
We camped in the same place for 3 nights which made things comfortable and saved a lot of trouble. The food was incredible given the camping stove. Our guides Mike and Reid were very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful...not to mention amazing chefs. They had thought of everything! The equipment was top notch - rode Santa Cruz full suspension bikes which were in very good condition and perfect bikes for the terrain.
