The Culture

LeftLane Sports is headquartered in San Luis Obispo, CA. Ranked as the Happiest City in the United States by USA Today and Oprah, San Luis Obispo is located on California's Central Coast halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles. We enjoy incredible weather, with an average of 73 degrees year-round, and we're surrounded by ocean, mountains, and grasslands. LeftLane Sports offices' and distribution center are located on a 17 acre campus featuring open recreational space that includes picnic areas, volleyball and basketball courts, an Ultimate Frisbee / Soccer field, a professional climbing gym, and access to bike trails.

The Team

The LeftLane Sports team is made up of triathletes, runners, cyclists, climbers, hikers, skiers, boarders, surfers, skaters, and adventure junkies. We might not all play the same sports, but we all work as a team. You don't have to be an Outdoors person to join us, you just have to enjoy life. Graphic Designer
Front-end Developer

Graphic Designer

We're seeking a design champ who's ready to jump into a small team that works hard and plays hard. You're a self-starter, process is not a dirty word to you, and you know quality is the name of the game. You're a master of grids, photography, color, and type and know your way around a set of brand standards. This is a job is for a multi-disciplinary talent, you'll be designing email one moment and drawing t-shirt designs the next. We are about finding the right person/personality for our team - You're hard-working, you practice kindness, have a positive attitude and a collaborative nature.

Responsibilities:

  • Create daily promotional digital material for use on-site and in (many) emails - striking a balance between various companies' branding and our Family of Brands.
  • Create Brand Collateral, from t-shirts designs/illustrations and beyond.
  • Play a key part in brainstorming and ideation for new projects.
  • Create support materials and elements for promotional projects.
  • Assist with photo shoots.

Skills:

  • 3-4 years professional experience needed.
  • Advanced knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator, working knowledge of InDesign.
  • Expertise in photo editing/manipulation, typesetting and composition is a necessity.
  • Confident with hand-lettering and illustration.
  • Constant in uncompromising attention to detail.
  • Self-starter, great communicator.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously, handle a fast-paced work environment, deadlines, new challenges, and changing priorities/objectives.
  • Must be able to work quickly and make your own design decisions but also incorporate feedback into your designs and adapt to constantly changing schedules and deliverables.
  • Background in email marketing, web design and eCommerce a plus.
  • Knowledge of outdoor industry/brands/lifestyle a plus.

Our small team has the enormous responsibility and almost unheard of privilege of designing for over 14 million outdoor, endurance, and action sports enthusiasts. We manage 10 distinct brands with varying audiences. Some days are exhausting, some days are immensely rewarding, but every day we help people get outside. Front-end Web Developer

Are you ready for an exciting and challenging position with a leading e-commerce company? As one of the fastest growing e-commerce companies in the United States, LeftLane Sports is expanding our team at our San Luis Obispo headquarters.

LeftLane Sports is hiring a Front End Web Developer that will be responsible for designing and developing member-facing products, as well as general day-to-day support functions for the Production and Design team. The position reports directly to the Director of Production and Design.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new member-facing technologies and products
  • Enhance UI across the LeftLane Sports family of brands
  • Assist in the development of new mobile shopping capabilities

Qualifications of Ideal Candidate

  • Knowledge in XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and DHTML/DOM, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Knowledge of the latest Web technologies, cross-browser, mobile and platform issues
  • Knowledge in Web standards and CSS-driven layouts
  • Experience in web design, multimedia production, and photography a plus
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and an eye towards quality and consistency
  • Able to thrive in a deadline-driven environment
  • Must be able to handle a number of projects simultaneously
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Work closely with creative director, art director, technology director, and other team members to achieve objectives
  • 2+ years professional experience in web design and multimedia production
  • Outdoor, Running, Cycling, Fitness or Action Sports oriented a plus!
